Timely "coincidences"

Postby brettz9 » Sat Jul 11, 2009 7:21 pm

Hello all,

While it can be taken too far, I'm interested to hear some of the interesting correlations between the Faith's important anniversaries (e.g., centenaries) and important events.

Was just reading how the the first programmable computer, was demonstrated in February of 1944, 100 years after the Declaration of the Bab which began the Baha'i Faith. On June 1, 1944, Colossus Mark 2, was used and immediately used successfully for the "D-Day" Normandy landings which lend great impetus to the end of tyranny in Europe.

I believe the first pilgrimages to the Holy Land for visiting Baha'u'llah occurred around 1869? The first trip to the moon seemed to correlate with this centenary...

best wishes,
Brett

Notice each World Congress seems to occur ever 29 years, and each of them ends up being a marker for a centenaries. So far they have been by choice, but as this trend follows of 29 years, it seems to be lining up with other centenaries

1963 - 100 years after the Declaration of Baha'u'llah
29 years later
1992 - 100 years after the Ascension of Baha'u'llah
29 years later
2021 - 100 years after the Ascension of Abdu'l Baha
IF 29 years later
2050 - 200 years after the Ascension of The Bab
IF 29 years later
2079 - 100 years after the Revolution in Iran and the historic fallout for Baha'i's of that

Interesting, Kevyan, thanks...

The King and Beloved of Martyrs were also martyred in 1879, significant perhaps given the role of the noble Baha'i friends of course in 1979...
