The word 'Bahai' in Sign Language

Postby BritishBahai » Sun Feb 14, 2010 12:49 pm

I randomly came across something and thought i'd share it with everyone here...

This is how you say (or should I say 'symbolise') the word 'Bahai' in sign language:
"I have desired only what Thou didst desire, and love only what Thou dost love"

That sounds really cool, BB...

FYI, my mother scanned in the original book on Gestuno at , though the language is now known more as International Sign. This was a language used at the Deaflympics and meant to serve as a kind of universal auxiliary communication medium for the deaf.

While ASL, like English, has been functioning more as a default world auxiliary language in the absence of an official choice, and even though IS has evolved significantly from its original form, I thought it would be useful to have this online in the event that, as with a constructed language like Esperanto, any future official decision would be able to benefit from having the option of considering already constructed languages.

best wishes,
