Bahais in Vietnam (Please help to promote website)

Postby Tahirih99 » Mon Jul 24, 2006 12:10 am

Dear friends,

This is a new website about the Baha'is in Vietnam, with a collection of translation of Writings and teachings in Vietnamese.
http://www.geocities.com/bahaisvietnam

The materials on the website are translated or collected by my dad. My sisters and I recently brought them out of the country with us and put them on this site.

Since 1975 until now, the Bahai Faith has not been recognized by the communist Government as an official religion and friends in Vietnam have restrictions in their activities.

We would like to promote this site to all who might be interested (and can read Vietnamese). If you have some Vietnamese visitors to your site, appreciate if you give a link to us and help us promote this link, anyway you can. :)

Thank you.

Dear Tahirih,

Congratulations on the work you have put into this.

We might want to mention though that the site may not be blocked because it is a Baha'i site...Since Geocities allows others to start their own websites, I believe it is probably being blocked because governments often don't like their citizens to set up websites so freely, as these websites allow, or because some foreign websites using the service have content the government considers objectionable.

best wishes,
Brett

Dear Brett,

Thank you for your idea. Then I will try it with an independent domain name.

Thank you so much,
Tahirih

brief mention of
http://www.geocities.com/bahaisvietnam/
on Raging Bull

NTTL board

http://ragingbull.lycos.com/mboard/boar ... &newpost=1

I am small time investor in NTTL.OB
we have a nice computer programing division in Vietnam

Entec

we also have a modest wharehouse in the free trade zone in Vietnam

like i say i am just a small time investor 4,600 shares at avg cost of .42
NTTL now goes for about .11 a share

I have no knowledge of day to day operations of NTTL
but the CEO of the company is originally from Vietnam
and he played an integral part in opening up and developing
VOIP in Vietnam

so ... as i was doing research on the company of course I thought of the Baha'i Faith ... the only thing I could find was a brief mention that at one time there was a hundred thousand members in Vietnam but that count was a few decades old.

In certain financial circles i hear Vietnam is building and gearing up to be a very strong and vibrant regional economic powerhouse.

please continue to let us know
when you update the site

also ...
a little more english would help us out alot in understanding
the Beauty of Vietnam.

Baha'i Media Bank

http://media.bahai.org/index.cfm

sent a brief note to Baha'i Media Bank
asking how to submit photos
I used the slide show of the Baha'is in Vietnam as an example
I basically asked how to include the photos from the slide show into the Baha'i Media Bank site ...

now I am anxiously awaiting a reply

Dear Friends,

Allah'u'Abha!

Thank you for this beautiful site.

I am curious as to how you select pictures to be included.

Exactly what is the process that occurs for you to include pictures in this site.

Do people contact you or do you contact people?

Can anybody contribute photos and then staff edits and if so how would i contribute photos ... can they be from websites that I don't own ?

For instance there is an outstanding slide show of the Baha'is in Vietnam ... http://www.geocities.com/bahaisvietnam/ ... and the slide show is here ... http://www.geocities.com/bahaisvietnam/Page0.html

How would I go about including the photos in the slide show into the Baha'i Media Bank site? ... note I do not own nor created the Vietnam site, but I do find the pictures worthy of inclusion into the Baha'i Media Bank ...

thank you for your services, time and consideration of my questions ... in brief how does one contribute photos to this site?

Dean Hedges

one fast and simple way u can promote this is to include it as your outgoing signature in emails

you'd be amazed!

not only would it be a great teaching tool but it will also generate a lot of publicity

I see the site http://www.geocities.com/bahaisvietnam/
has been discontinued with the closing of geocities. Is there another place writings in Vietnamese can be accessed?
