Until recently, the only complete English translation of this central scriptural volume, prepared by two former Protestant missionaries to Iran. Although there is some polemical intention, the translation, if wooden, is reliable, and the notes are dependable, if lacking in penetration. An official translation is now available (item xx). A late work, generally known as the Lawh-i Ibn-i Dhi'b or Epistle to the Son of the Wolf, in the form of a lengthy letter to a leading Shi'ite cleric, Aqa Najafi. It contains copious quotations from earlier works. Several translations exist (see items x, xx, xxx).

Hofheim-Langenhain, Germany: Bahá'í-Verlag, 137 B.E./1981. A bilingual edition of a famous Arabic prayer sometimes known in English as The Long Healing Prayer. The English translation is an official version first published in 1980 (see item 40) to replace an earlier 'unapproved' version. This edition exists in at least two colour formats, otherwise identical. Collins 1.48.

Most of the later texts are very short. All materials date from Edirne and Acre (1864-92).
