Baha'is celebrate project

Local members of the Baha'i Faith are hosting a "Share Our Joy" celebration at 8 p.m. today in the Shadle Park High School auditorium, 4327 N. Ash.

The celebration is being held in honor of the upcoming May 22 dedication of the elaborate terraces built on Mount Carmel in Israel.

The 19 terraces extend nearly a kilometer up the side of the mountain and include fountains, gardens, ponds, detailed carvings and more.

The huge project, funded by Baha'is around the world, reportedly cost $250 million to build over the past decade.

The local celebration commemorating the dedication will include music and entertainment. All are welcome to attend.
