Security beefed up in Capital"Special alert has been sounded all over the city and we are taking all necessary steps," Joint Commissioner of Police Satish Chandra said. Tight security arrangements have been made particularly in the sprawling Chhattarpur temple complex, the Iskcon temple, the Baha'i temple, Malai Mandir, Laxmi Narayan temple, the Hanuman temples at Connaught Place and Yamuna Bazar, Gaurish temple in Chandni Chowk and other prominent shrines, police sources said. Police personnel have also been deployed outside important gurdwaras, churches, mosques, Buddhist monasteries and Jain temples. Devotees were being frisked and their vehicles being checked before allowing entry, the sources said. Security in and around other government buildings, particularly the VVIP areas and the diplomatic enclave have also been tightened with intense patrolling and increased number of barricades and additional deployment of police and paramilitary personnel. Senior police officials are personally supervising the security arrangements, the sources added.
