come-first served basis and participation was
limited to the first 1, 000 Bahá'ís to register.

Auxiliary Board members, and a number of invited
guests who had rendered distinguished service to the
Canadian Bahá'i community, including Mrs. Audrey
Robarts, seven Knights ofBaha'u'llah and believers
who had been present at the l 948 National

- 2006-04-28 — The 57th Bahá'í National Convention was held at
the newly renovated
Toronto Bahá'í
Centre. This year's
Convention was attended by Dr. Ann
Boyles and Mr. Dan Scott,
members of the Continental Board
of Counsellors in the Americas. The newly
configured space at the Toronto
Centre made it possible as well for
more than 100 observers to watch
the Convention proceedings on a
large screen in a conference room
on the floor immediately above
the Convention Hall.
The Convention also welcomed Mr.
Douglas Martin, former member of the Universal House of Justice
who now resides in Canada, and
Mr. Larry Clarke, retiring after
more than 20 years of service at
the Bahá'í National Centre.

The National Assembly announced the results of the election of the National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá'ís of Canada. Because the Convention had to be cancelled owing to public health guidelines related to the COVID-19 health crisis, delegates mailed in their ballots or made arrangements to phone them in.
