About: In this document we describe the process of identification, diagnosis and inventory of the archive of Radio Bahá'í. [1] In turn, we present some reflections on the work of the archivist and on the logic that has characterized the constitution and operation of the archive of the station. It should be noted that the objective of this text is centered on these reflections, the challenges and the nature of this Mapuche sound archive and not on the detailed description of the materials. At the end of this document, the tasks through which the aspects not addressed here can be accounted for in a future article are suggested. This research arose from the need to develop actions for the safeguarding and enhancement of the sound archive of Radio Bahá'í de Labranza. It is likely that the sound archive of the station comprises the largest number of oral expressions of the Mapuche community, preserved in various analog and digital formats. It is made up of ritual and secular manifestations from different territories carried out by various people and traditional authorities of the Wallmapu (Mapuche nation, ancestral territory) over a period of about four decades. In addition to the heritage value of the collection, its value also lies in the leadership of Mapuche people in its creation and radio transmission, which has determined the logic of its conservation and dissemination. |
