Thank you for sharing your views on religious teachings regarding abortion.

Margaret Sanger, whom you mention, was invited to speak at a public gathering sponsored by The New History Society, a group headed by former Baha'i, Mirza Ahmad Sohrab, himself a 'covenant breaker' and avowed enemy of the Baha'i Faith who failed in his attempt to liberate the Faith from some of its basic teachings. Her talk at that gathering has been quoted on the internet on several websites and should not be misconstrued to imply the Baha'i Faith itself supported her views at the time. It is not known if she was asked to speak because Sohrab approved of her views, or simply because he wanted the publicity her appearance would garner, or both.

There are no figures available for the number of abortions in the Baha'i community, as such a study has never been made so far as I know. I would think the number is quite low in comparison to other religious groups, but until a definitive scientific study is done it would be mere speculation to either over-emphasize this number or under-estimate it either within the Western Baha'i community or world-wide.
