A Comparison between the Commentary and Interpretation of an Islamic Tradition by 'Abdu'l-Bahá and Ayatu'llah Khomeini

Abstract: This article concerns the two very different interpretations of a single Islamic Tradition regarding taqlíd, "to follow (legal interpretations)," as given, on the one hand, by the Islamic Shi`i clerics exemplified by Ayatu’llah Khomeini and, on the other hand by ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, the successor of Bahá’u’lláh, the founder of the Bahá’í Faith.
