One of the Tablets of Visitation in Glorification of the Station of Mullá Ḥusayn, Revealed by the Báb

Abstract: This article presents a provisional English translation of a luminous Tablet of Visitation revealed by the Báb in honour of Mullá Ḥusayn Bushrú’í, the first to recognize His mission, the standard-bearer of His Cause, and the heroic leader of the believers at the fort of Shaykh Ṭabarsí. Martyred on 2 February 1849, Mullá Ḥusayn’s sacrifice situates the Tablet as having been revealed subsequent to that event; it is addressed to an unidentified recipient and is preserved in Fáḍil Mázandarání’s Ẓuhúr al-Ḥaqq, vol. 3, pp. 140–142.

The Tablet summons the supplicant, through inward and outward purification, to approach the sacred resting place of this immortal figure and unfolds as a sustained testimony to the living reality of martyrdom. Affirming Mullá Ḥusayn’s exalted station in the “most exalted Horizon of the Throne,” the Báb proclaims the unsurpassable nature of his rank, the cosmic magnitude of his affliction, and the eternal efficacy of his sacrifice. Rendered here with fidelity to its elevated tone and imagery, this working translation is offered for study and reflection, pending a fully authorized version.
