abstract The article answers the resurgence of a feminine divine in several religions by offering several examples of the interaction between male and female principles in Bahá'í writings. Complementarity of the masculine and feminine images of divinity enriches our understanding of the divinehuman encounter, but does not supplant the unknowability and unity of God. The dynamic nature of masculine and feminine images of divinity stands in sharp contrast to dogmatic static concepts of divinity.
