| abstract | These are tumultuous times. Countless ills—terrorist attacks, devastating wars, political and religious conflicts, social and economic inequities, financial crises, declining moral standards, lawlessness and corruption, environmental devastation, and global warming, to name but a few—afflict the world. But “Though the world is encompassed with misery and distress, yet no man hath paused to reflect what the cause or source of that may be.” From the Bahá’í Faith’s perspective, the root causes of these problems are spiritual in nature. In this booklet, therefore, we will explore the Bahá’í writings in search of the underlying causes of world turmoil and the actions needed for securing its peace. |
