abstract note	After the author dealt in the past almost exclusively with the spiritual side of the Bahá'í religion, his attention has been more and more on the practical side of this religion, which is also present in Germany. The author has investigated the question of whether the principles of the Bahá'í religion are in conformity with the Basic Law. Germany is representative of other states with the same or similar constitutional systems. The investigation shows that it is always worthwhile to look behind the outer appearance of a religious community. Only then is a rating possible. This is especially true for a community that is generally positively rated by most people in Europe because of the persecution against them in Iran.
