194-		 The first local spiritual assembly in the Dominican Republic was established in Santo Domingo then called Ciudad Trujillo (Ciudad Trujillo was the official name given to the city of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, on 8 January 1936, in honour of President Rafael Leónidas Trujillo Molina. On 21 November 1961, almost six months after Trujillo's assassination, the city was renamed Santo Domingo, as it had been called since its founding in 1496).
