The first legally recognized Baháʼí wedding in Panama was held in the city of David in Chiriqui Province between Ruth Ellen Yancey and Alan A. Pringle. Ruth and Alan Ruth were pioneers who dedicated their efforts to teaching the Guaymi Indigenous community in the Chiriquí Province. Both later served on the National Spiritual Assembly of Panama and Ruth eventually became a Continental Counsellor.
