کتاب صوتی "شعله" تجلیلی در حیات "امّ المبلّغین جامعهٔ ”بهایی آمریکا لوآ گتسینگر"

About: کتاب «شعله»: تجلیلی از «لوآی فنا ناپذیر»نوشتهٔ ویلیام سیرز و رابرت کوئیگلی، زندگی‌نامه‌ای پراحساس و الهام‌بخش است که به روایت حیات پربار لوآ مور گتسینگر می‌پردازد.

‎ لوآ گتسینگر (۱۸۷۱–۱۹۱۶) از پیشگامان آیین بهائی در آمریکا بود. لوآ به «معنای پرچم » ملقب گردید. وی یکی از نخستین نفوس غربی بود که که عَلَم امر مبارک را در آفاق غرب و اقطار عالم بلند کرد.در سال ۱۸۹۷ این دیانت الهی را پذیرفت. او در هوم، نیویورک به دنیا آمد و به یکی از پیروان وفادار حضرت عبدالبهاء بدل شد. لوآ در سال ۱۸۹۸ جزو نخستین آمریکایی‌هایی بود که برای زیارت حضرت عبدالبهاء به عکّا سفر کرد. به دلیل فداکاری و وفاداری کم‌نظیرش، حضرت عبدالبهاء به او القاب زیبایی چون «مبّشر و منادی میثاق» و «امّ المبلّغین غرب» عطا فرمودند. او توانایی شگفت‌انگیزی در سخنرانی داشت و در هر محفلی، بی باکانه و درخشنده سخن می‌گفت—هدیه‌ای گرانبها که از جانب حضرت محبوب به او ارزانی شده بود.

می مکسول در تقدیر آن وجود استثنائی چنین نوشته است:

‎«چنان‌که قرةالعین در مشرق‌زمین و در یوم الله، زمان ظهور حضرت بهاءالله ناقوس بود، صُور بود، لوآ نیز تا ابد پرچم سپیده‌دم را در یوم عهد و میثاق به اهتزاز در خواهد آورد.»

‎لوآ به‌طور گسترده در سراسر آمریکای شمالی، اروپا، خاورمیانه و هند سفر کرد و پیام‌های حضرت بهاءالله را منتشر ساخت. از رویدادهای برجسته‌ی زندگی‌اش، رساندن دادخواستی به دربار شاه ایران در سال ۱۹۰۲ است که در آن خواستار پایان ظلم و آزار و اذیت بهائیان شده بود. فصاحت کلام و شجاعت او الهام‌بخش بسیاری گردید، لوآ در سال ۱۹۱۶ به‌طور ناگهانی در قاهره و در سن ۴۴ سالگی درگذشت و میراثی جاودان از خدمت و فداکاری بر جای نهاد.

ویلیام سی‌یرز یک بهائی آمریکایی بود که به عنوان یکی از ایادی امرالله منصوب شد.

او آموزگار فعّال آیین بهائی در آمریکا بود، کتاب‌هایی دربارهٔ این دین نوشت، و سپس به آفریقای جنوبی مهاجرت کرد و در آنجا به استقرار نهادهای بهائی کمک نمود. او در مقام عضو محفل روحانی ملی و هیئت معاونین به خدمت پرداخت و در سال ۱۹۵۷ از سوی شوقی افندی به مقام ایادی امرالله منصوب شد.

در سال ۱۹۶۰، پس از صعود شوقی افندی، به سرزمین مقدّس نقل مکان کرد تا به عنوان یکی از متولیان امر ایمان خدمت کند. سپس در سال ۱۹۶۳ به آمریکا بازگشت و در آنجا نقش مهمی در آغاز آموزش‌های همگانی ایفا کرد و به تشویق تلاش‌های فردی در زمینهٔ تبلیغ پرداخت. وی همچنین به کشورهای گوناگون سفر کرد تا جوامع بهائی را تقویت و تشویق نماید.

در روزهایی که جهان زیر سایهٔ همه‌گیری کرونا قرار داشت و قرنطینه‌های شدید، زندگی را برای همگان دگرگون کرده بود، گروهی از دوستان در شهر ملبورن، استرالیا، با الهام از روحیهٔ فداکاری و روشناییِ زندگی لُوآ تصمیم گرفتند با همکاری و همدلی، کتاب صوتی «شعله» را تهیه کنند.

این پروژه، در دل دوران سخت و ناشناخته‌ای متولد شد، اما به جای ترس و انزوا، نور و مهر را به دل‌ها آورد. بسیاری از عزیزانی که در ساخت این اثر سهیم بودند، به‌گونه‌ای عمیق تحت تأثیر زندگی و روحیهٔ لُواء قرار گرفته بودند – بعضی از ایشان حتی بدون آن‌که از نزدیک او را دیده باشند، با روح پرمحبت و فروزانش پیوندی معنوی یافته بودند.

کتاب صوتی «شعله» نه تنها ادای احترامی به زندگیِ پربار و الهام‌بخش لُواء است، بلکه نمادی است از امید، دوستی و قدرت جمعی در روزگاری که جهان بیش از همیشه به نور و همبستگی نیاز داشت.

‎ Loa Moore Getsinger (1871–1916) was a pioneer of the Bahá’í Faith in America. Loa was known as “the Ensign.” She was one of the first Westerners to raise the banner of the Faith across the western horizons and into the lands of the world. She embraced the divine faith in 1897. Born in Home, New York, she became a devoted follower of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá. In 1898, Loa was among the first Americans to visit ‘Abdu’l-Bahá in ‘Akká. Because of her unparalleled devotion and loyalty, ‘Abdu’l-Bahá bestowed upon her such beautiful titles as “The Herald of the Covenant” and “The Mother of the Messengers of the West.” She had a marvelous gift for oratory, and spoke fearlessly and brilliantly in every gathering—a precious gift bestowed upon her by the Beloved.

May Maxwell, in her tribute to that exceptional being, wrote:

“As the Qur’an was a bell, a trumpet in the East on the Day of God, at the time of the appearance of Bahá’u’lláh, so Loa will forever wave the banner of dawn on the Day of Covenant.”

Loa traveled extensively throughout North America, Europe, the Middle East, and India, spreading the messages of Bahá’u’lláh. One of the highlights of his life was his delivery of a petition to the court of the Shah of Iran in 1902, calling for an end to the oppression and persecution of the Bahá'ís. His eloquence and courage inspired many, and he died suddenly in Cairo in 1916 at the age of 44, leaving behind a lasting legacy of service and sacrifice.

William Sears (March 28, 1911 – March 25, 1992) was an American Bahá'í who was ordained as a Hand of God.

He was an active teacher of the Bahá'í Faith in America, wrote books about the Faith, and later emigrated to South Africa, where he helped establish Bahá'í institutions. He served as a member of the National Spiritual Assembly and the Board of Deputies, and was ordained a Hand of God by Shoghi Effendi in 1957.

In 1960, after the ascension of Shoghi Effendi, he moved to the Holy Land to serve as one of the Guardians of the Faith. He then returned to the United States in 1963, where he played a major role in initiating public education and encouraging individual efforts in the field of evangelization. He also traveled to various countries to strengthen and encourage Bahá’í communities.

The Beginning of the Project: The Flame Audiobook

In the days when the world was under the shadow of the COVID-19 pandemic and strict quarantines had transformed life for everyone, a group of friends in Melbourne, Australia, inspired by the spirit of sacrifice and the brightness of Loa’s life, decided to collaborate and empathize and produce the Flame audiobook.

This project was born in the midst of difficult and unknown times, but instead of fear and isolation, it brought light and love to hearts. Many of the loved ones who contributed to the creation of this work were deeply touched by Luwa's life and spirit – some of them, without even having seen him up close, had found a spiritual connection with his loving and radiant spirit.
