"They that have violated the Covenant of God by breaking His commandments, and have turned back on their heels, these have erred grievously in the sight of God, the All-Possessing, the Most High."Again, this passage and what immediately precedes it seems to me aimed at antinomian Babis who had developed a doctrine that the advent of the Bab had freed them from shari`ah or the strict observance of religious law.

Inna 'lladhina utu basa'iru mina 'llahi yarawna hududa 'llahi 's-sababa 'l-a`zama li nazmi 'l-`alami wa hifzi 'l-umami. Wa 'lladhi ghafala innahu min hamajin ra`a`in. Inna amarnakum bi kasri hududati 'n-nafsi wa 'l-hawa la ma ruqima mina 'l-qalami 'l-a`la. Innahu la ruhu 'l-hayawani li man fi 'l-imkani.
