This publication includes the chapters of Nicolas' Seyyed Ali Mohammed that pertain to the Báb: chapters 1, 2, 7 and 8. Chapter 8 was reprinted in A Most Noble Pattern: Collected Essays on the Writings of the Báb as "Concealment and Burial of the Báb" (2012). Chapters 4 and 12, on Tahirih, were published in Tahirih in History: Perspectives on Qurratu'l-'Ayn (2004).
