Epistle of the Báb to Mullá Ḥusayn, Revealed at Búshihr:

Abstract: This Epistle of the Báb, addressed to Mullá Ḥusayn, stands as a radiant testament to His spiritual authority and revelatory vision. Internal evidence — particularly the Báb’s explicit references to verses revealed during His pilgrimage — and the manuscript heading identifying Mullá Ḥusayn as its recipient, together indicate that it was revealed in Búshihr shortly after the Báb’s return from His pilgrimage to Mecca. Historical sources confirm that the Báb arrived in Búshihr on 14 May 1845 and remained there until 25 June 1845; the Epistle must therefore date from the period between 14 May and 24 June 1845, during the concluding weeks of His six-week stay before His return to Shíráz.

In this Tablet, the Báb proclaims the transcendent authority of the Book of the Remembrance, enjoining its recitation and affirming the necessity of humility before the Divine Essence. He sets forth the principles of divine unity, the immutability of God’s decree, and the inimitability of His revelation. The Epistle delineates the moral and spiritual ranks of the faithful and the heedless, offers guidance concerning the City of Safety (Shíráz) and the pilgrimage, and extols the exalted station of the Remnant of God, the Proof, and the Manifest Imám.

Concluding with salutations and praise, the Epistle functions both as personal guidance to Mullá Ḥusayn and as a universal proclamation of the nascent Faith. It is presented here in provisional English translation from the Arabic text preserved in INBA 91:14–18.
