The Constructive Imaginary

About: This special issue of the Journal marks a moment in a journey by a group of collaborators exploring the implications of an emerging concept with profound relevance to twenty-first century struggles for social justice. To understand the nature and purpose of this journey, it will help to know a little about the process that led us here. Before considering this process, however, it is important to note that the collection of essays in this journal represents only a small number of voices offering contributions at only one moment in a wider ongoing conversation. Any important voices and perspectives are absent from this collection, but not all things can be accomplished in any given setting. This collection of essays thus constitutes an invitation for all relevant voices to contribute, over time, to this expanding conversation.
